The Gore-Tex® membrane makes the shoe waterproof while still breathable, so your feet stay dry in rain, puddles or mud. In return it is a little heavier and warmer, and if water gets in over the ankle it takes a while to dry. Very useful on trails and for anyone who runs whatever the weather.
