Asics GT 2000 15
The Asics GT 2000 15 is a stability cushioned running shoe.

Description

The Asics GT 2000 15 is the moderate stability shoe from Asics for overpronators who want a lighter and more dynamic ride than the all-powerful Gel Kayano 33 and, above all, at a lower price.

Compared with its predecessor, the GT 2000 14, the most noticeable change is underfoot: the midsole debuts FF Blast Max foam, the compound that took the Novablast 5 to another level and that in the GT 2000 15 provides more bounce without giving up comfort, making this the most cushioned version of the line while possibly also the lightest. The 3D Guidance System keeps the foot centred with well-integrated, unobtrusive guidance, while the Pure Gel in the heel softens the landing. The upper moves to a lighter, more breathable engineered woven fabric, with a low-volume last and a snug fit that wraps the foot; runners with wide feet should consider the 2E or 4E versions where available.

With an 8 mm heel-to-toe drop, the geometry is classic despite the considerable stack height and aimed at easing the stride. The outsole combines AHAR LO in the centre and AHAR Plus at the heel for everyday durability, although nothing exceptional. Ideal for overpronators who want a stable and fairly light shoe for daily runs and long runs, with some pace when needed. A shoe that works well but never quite wins hearts; perhaps that is the secret of its success.
