Description

The racing Saucony Type A8 has rebranded itself within little scope available. Edition number is again available in official name (seventh edition was just named as "Type A") and complete refurbished upper and outsole have been released to gain some market share among extreme road racing shoes. Its target audience is more limited than other popular racing shoes like Adidas Adizero Adios Boost 3 because Type A8 focus on speed interval training (one step above spikes) and 5/10 km road races.

Saucony decided to go one step further from what Type A and Type A6 with engineered mesh upper for a dynamic fit like in its counterpart with pronation support Fastwitch 8 made of soft and elastic fabric enabling sockless running. FlexFilm™ melded overlays provide snug fit with reduced weight, something mandatory when moving as fast as possible.

Midsole is basically one piece of Saucony Super Lite (SSL) EVA which provides limited but responsive cushioning featuring just 4 mm drop. There is a revolution regarding outsole configuration and not only ventilation holes are gone but also lug pattern is more "conventional" with two big crossed grooves in the forefoot to increase flexibility and another two on the external side to promote a quicker response. Outsole includes high performance PWRTRAC™ rubber used in off-road models like Peregrine 7 for outstanding traction. As usual to confirm racing mindset, outsoles include motivation mottos like "Life's hard" and "Run harder".
