The big picture is becoming clearer with the latest Nike models, leaving the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 as a very cushioned shoe, with a lower energy return than its sibling ZoomX Invincible Run but with improved stability supporting moderate pronation. The American brand seems to have abandoned the "scientific studies" often accompanied by legal disclaimers (ahem) as a way to advertise their products and opt for a modern and attractive design in combination with some strident colors to attract the attention of potential buyers who are willing to buy them at a high retail price.

The complete redesign of the upper is the major change from the original React Infinity Run. The key is a better fit based not only on different textures and densities depending on the area but also on the use of the familiar FlyWire cables perfectly integrated into the whole that also act as eyelets so custom lacing tension leaves everything perfectly tidy. The rearfoot has also been redesigned to better manage tension on the achilles, while the plastic piece at the bottom offers increased stiffness to fight pronation, a similar solution to what Brooks uses with its Guide Rails technology

As it could not be otherwise, the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 features an imposing midsole made entirely of React foam, a compound that seems a bit outdated compared to the latest technologies developed by the American brand, but that offers good performance in shoes not so demanding with the response and oriented to easy long runs. Although it does not implement the classic solution of a firmer midsole insert (dual density), stability is provided by the plastic piece in the lower part of the upper that occupies the entire rear third of the shoe but please notice some runners complain about it being too intrusive with strange sensations in the arch of the foot. The outsole remains identical with those somewhat "psychedelic" rubber shapes. So, let's run.
