The new New Balance Vazee Prism is kind of Vazee Pace with pronation control (double density), an evolution of the 870 v4 which did not get much traction. In a category where popular DS Trainer 21 leads the market year to year and only Adidas with its Adizero Tempo Boost seems a reasonable alternative, new Vazee Prism shows up with responsive cushioning based on REVlite midsole and modern look to offer another option for runners looking for pronation control in tempo runs or racing up to marathon.

Upper is similar to Vazee Pace one based on bootie construction with highy breathable mesh and curved forefoot for faster transition. It also provides a more secure fit with synthetic overlay wrapping midfoot from the rearfoot where more powerful "deconstructed" heel counter features extra stability. Several reflective elements (including lateral logos) offer good visibility under poor light conditions.

As expected, Vazee Prism's midsole is made of one piece REVlite® foam with medial post (double density) for pronation control. Fans of other New Balance running shoes can recognize REVlite® foam from popular racing flats like 1500 v2 featuring great blend of cushioning and response. Outsole changes a bit from its counterpart Vazee Pace with harder rubber (even in forefoot area) for longer durability.
