Description

The quiet Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 gets complete revamp to celebrate its 14 years in the market without playing main roles in marketing campaigns but featuring great value for money, something shared by its counterpart for neutral runners Wave Ultima 9. Some time ago japanese brand Mizuno launched Wave Horizon running shoes to fill the gap between premium Wave Paradox 4 and current Wave Inspire 14 but it is not clear if there is enough audience for another model among its most cushioned running shoes with pronation support lineup.

Although there is no new technology available, there are many changes on how reliable but leading developments are used compared with its predecessor Wave Inspire 13. Any annual release gets its upper updated (more often than not is the only reason which supports price increase) with Jacquard mesh that not only offers modern and attractive look but also increases ventilation in forefoot to improve breathability and is the baseline for DynamotionFit overlay that wraps midfoot and provide snug and secure fit.

Most interesting chnage in midsole is the integration of CloudWave™ (already seen in more popular Mizuno running shoes like Wave Rider 21) that offers smoother transition combined with double Wave™ featuring great stability and suitable stiffness to support pronation control. Abundant cushioning relies on full-length U4ic foam strengthen with redesigned U4icX wedge in the heel (12 mm drop!) for increased comfort and improved shock absorption. Outsole remains similar but adds a third transversal groove in the forefoot for better flexilibity and quicker toe-off.
