Hoka Torrent 4

The Hoka Torrent 4 is the trail running shoe for neutral runners looking for agility and speed over short distances. It completes Hoka's trail range alongside the Challenger 8, a versatile shoe for easy trails, and the Speedgoat 7, which is designed for long distances with premium materials such as its Vibram outsole. The Torrent 4 fills the niche of fast outings on more technical terrain. It is one of the lightest and most responsive options in Hoka's trail line-up, with the exception of the Zinal, of course.

The fourth edition is a complete overhaul from top to bottom compared with the previous version. The single-layer mesh upper improves breathability and cuts weight, with heat-welded overlays in the key areas for a more secure hold. The padded tongue and the Active Foot Frame deliver a secure fit with no pressure points. The fit is somewhat narrow, which makes it ideal for narrow or regular feet.

The EVA midsole offers a firm ride with good ground feel, with a moderate rocker and the brand's trademark 5 mm drop that eases transitions without feeling unstable on technical terrain. The outsole with 5 mm lugs delivers exceptional traction on dry trails and rock. Ideal for fast outings without giving up protection or comfort.
